I am not a blogger but I am a very enthusiastic dog agility participant — at least I hope I will continue to be a participant. I have a few thoughts about the “mental game” from a very different perspective. With 2 bouts of pneumonia and a broken knee in the past 8 months I’ve been struggling to regain stamina and lung capacity. These set backs would normally just suggest patience and work. But at 78 they pose a different question: is this the end of being able to do agility? Thus my mental game, as I have begun retraining both me and my running companions, is to convince my body that it can run again, that its not over until its really over.
I really love all the different perspective that people are offering. Great topic.
